Only one cottage is on offer at Delusthof. It is secluded and you are on your own without interference from other visitors.
It comprises of two bedrooms and sleeps six people comfortably.
Electric blankets will keep you warm during cold winter nights while cool crisp linen will let you sleep easily during summer.
We do provide towels.
There are two bathrooms, one shower (en suite) and the second bathroom boasts a full-size tub.
The Lounge is spacious and the dining table seats eight people.
The cottage is situated on a working farm and fresh milk is available daily. One can attend a dairy session and come away with a bottle of fresh full cream milk.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern luxuries with the added ambience of pure farm. The Ellis de Luxe wood burner adds just that little extra to your experience.
Several hiking trails criss-cross the farm and a visit to the Fertility cave is a true adventure. A short walk to the sacred place where sangomas practise their religion and rituals.
The Fertility cave or as it is locally known, Metouleng, is a national heritage site.
DeLusthof is within easy reach of Clarens, the Artscape village, Fouriesburg which is the entry port to Lesotho and Afriski.
Just a short drive brings one to Ficksburg, the Cherry capital of South Africa.
Enough fire wood is available for those long winter evenings or a barbeque in summer.
The cottage is also serviced at a nominal fee.
The farm is a mere four hours’ drive from Gauteng, three hours from Bloemfontein and five hours from Durban.
Average day temperatures are 20 degrees. Please bring warm and rain protection clothing when visiting the Highlands of the Eastern Free State.
