Hobbs Lake is twenty-five acres and a former gravel pit in the heart of West Norfolk. This water is part of the Nar Valley Fisheries complex but, set in the Northwest corner of the site surrounded by unspoilt countryside, woods and meadows, it might as well be in the middle of nowhere.
Hobbs Lake is run on a season permit only basis. We have created a ‘Wild Trout’ fishery from a man-made resource and, with our stocking policies and emphasis on ‘Catch and Release’ over the years, we genuinely have hard-fighting wild trout for the accomplished fly-fisherman to target. We pride ourselves on our ‘Big Brownies’ who search the margins for prey, and our muscular Rainbows whose aerobatics are something to behold once hooked.
We can also offer 1.5 miles of the River Nar to fish for the natural Trout in the Trout season
(April to October).
