Fishing has been a part of Amanda’s life for as long as she can remember. Her father was the one who sparked her passion for angling, and over the years, she began discovering the many different sides of the sport for herself. Although she enjoys various styles of fishing, carp fishing is what gives her the greatest satisfaction. Along the way, she has met many interesting people and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that she now takes with her on every fishing adventure.
Amanda does most of her fishing in Poland, but she also regularly travels to Germany and the Czech Republic. She has even had a fishing trip to Bosnia. In Poland, Smolno and Chojnica hold a special place in her heart and she is always happy to return to these venues. She most often chooses lakes, while river sessions are much less frequent and usually limited to short, one-day trips.
One of her most recent trips took her to La Motta Seen in Germany. It was already Amanda’s seventh visit to the complex, so she knows the venue very well. This time, she managed to catch a beautiful carp. She used a Blowback Rig with a soft hooklink and a 20 mm Super Krill boilie.
The rig was placed on a hard patch of bottom, clear of the surrounding underwater vegetation, at a depth of around 4.5 metres. Amanda used tiger nuts, pellets and boilies, with the whole mix additionally boosted with a squid-flavoured attractor - a flavour carp simply love, as a ground bait.
The fight itself was exceptionally calm. As Amanda admits, it was really a “lazy fight”. However, the fish had a few moments when it decided to show its strength and simply dug itself into the bottom. For several dozen seconds, it refused to move, adding an extra dose of excitement to the fight.
In the end, everything went according to plan and the beautiful 15 kg carp was safely placed in the mat. Although the fish was a little less cooperative when it came to the photos, Amanda eventually managed to get it to cooperate.
For Amanda, every fishing session is about more than just the chance to catch a big fish. Above all, it is an opportunity to spend time by the water, gain new experiences and pursue her passion. Her next trip is already planned – on 17 October, Amanda will begin a week-long fishing session at Delous Fishery.
